Godsrite is a mythic-fantasy epic set in the world of Evalore, the capital of the universe and the heart of celestial order. The narrative centers around a galaxy fractured by ancient and ongoing wars, divine succession, and a brewing rebellion against the gods themselves.
Eight centuries before the events of the story, Lenora, the Spectral Blood Goddess and reigning deity of Evalore, sacrificed herself in a galaxy shattering battle to imprison Aellum, a fellow Spectral whose obsession with balance and ,subsequently, descent into madness and ruin sparked a celestial cataclysm. Her death left a vacuum of divine power and set the stage for the rise of The Seven Eyes, a self-appointed ruling council who govern Evalore, made up of former vassals of Lenora.
Over time, The Seven Eyes transformed Evalore into a sanctified empire, expanding across the stars under the premise of protection. Worlds that resist annexation are left defenseless against the Darkfolk, malformed creatures still empowered by Aellum’s lingering shadow.
The story begins with the arrival of Myria, the first godborn child in generations. Born from the remnants of Lenora’s scattered essence, she becomes a figure of both reverence and fear. Forbidden from training in divine arts, Myria is kept under the Eye’s surveillance—until she becomes the target of a conspiracy.
A plan to send Myria to her death in the Godsgrave—Evalore’s divine prison—fails due to the intervention of Azael, a fallen knight of the old world. Bound by oath and guilt, he becomes Myria’s protector as she is thrust into Godsrite, a ceremony to decide the next leader of the Seven Eyes, through a brutal test of strength by champions chosen and backed by the gods.
